If the age will be based on the birth of the book then Harry Potter just turned 20. But the magic still lingers and the mere mention of the name rings a bell not only to oldtimers but even to the younger generation who were not born yet when the first movie was shown in 2001. Daniel Radcliffe as Harry has grown to be a man now. The book was written by British author J.K.Rowling.

I'm a colossal Harry Potter fan. I cherish it such a great amount of, one of my most loved film series. I adore the books as well. My most loved one in the series is the first, since you realize what will transpire later on, and look as they leave on a brilliant voyage. I can't trust it's 20 years of age, appears like yesterday it started.

It's hard to believe this franchise has been around for so long. Wow!

It is hard to believe that the first book was published 20 years ago. I've heard that J. K. Rowling when through several publishing companies before she finally found someone that would publish the first book. If that is true, don't you know that all of those companies that turned her down are probably kicking themselves right now?

I am a fan of the Harry Potter series. I am collecting all of the illustrated versions of the books right now and I plan on re-reading the series once I have all of them. I didn't get into the series until right about the time the 5th book was being released. I got a late start because I thought they were too childish and that I wouldn't enjoy them. But then I found out that there were several of my friends and family members that were reading them so my hubby gave me the first three books in the series for my birthday one year. I was hooked from then on.

I remember when I went to see the very first movie when I was young. and it was big back then. 20 years ago. DARN I was still an very little boy when the book came out. I was 6 I seen the moive.

This is something I posted int my social media app to commemorate the event 😀

20 years before this very day, the HPverse was thrown open to the world outside. I, as always, was skeptical of the books, but I made up my mind to read it from the beggining and ever since, I havent felt even the slightest remorse for all the leisure and studies I traded for Harry Potter. They taught me that help should always be given to those who ask for it. It instilled in me the subtle ability to love my enemies and those who offend me because Dumbledore had told that even the finest wizards err. And Snape, gave me the reason why I should love 'always' even if the world thinks otherwise. The impact on me was so profound that I took to having my own online discussion website, staffed three forums and roleplayed 15 different characters with those who, like me, were influenced with this amazing piece of literature.

Dear JKR, like you authored - words are your most inexhaustible source of magic and thankyou for giving a generation of amazing kids, a book to read, a work of imagination to chew upon and a story to behold. To all of us including my humble self, you taught that despite the countless nameless people we slaughter for the most important persons in our life, if the wiseman makes a mistake, they walk away but yet, the scars they leave behind can be useful. Thankyou so much for making my childhood magical and giving me a book I can point out to my kids, being assured that it will take them a long way ahead of their journey too

I was 4 or 5 years old

I was 4 and a half years old when the first book came out

Its really hard to believe its already been so long!

I think I was in middle school or high school when the books came out. My mom bought the first one. I had started it but stopped (my mom always thought it was cause my one friend didn't like it) One night years later I was bored and read it and got hooked. Asked for more of the books and next day my mom came home with 2-4 (all that was out at the time). I read through them many times!
