Harry Potter Reboot Casts John Lithgow as Dumbledore


What are your thoughts on this?

They're going for American actors this time I see.

I love John but really don't see him as Dumbledore.

They should probably leave it alone. The original movies were a master piece. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

That's a interesting choice, I don't picture him to be Dumbledore. He did great in the Pet Sematary remake as Judd and he was great in 3rd Rock From the Sun but I just can't picture him to be Dumbledore. Either way I hope the reboot flops.

Makes me wonder how much say Rowling is getting this time because she had strong vocals about everyone being British last time.

I would have loved to have seen Robin Williams in the films but she shut that idea down!

I personally thought it was too soon to do a reboot......I don't think enough time has passed since they made the movies. However, I will still watch this tv show just for grins and giggles.

Well, I think this is going to be a problem with anyone they pick for Dumbledore. Regardless of which guy they get to play the part of Dumbledore, it's going to be someone that is a little bit older since Dumbledore was reportedly over a hundred years old. In the movies, they picked Richard Harris and he passed away after only being able to do the first two movies. That's when Michael Gambon took over the role and was able to complete the series before he passed away.

Well, I think this is going to be a problem with anyone they pick for Dumbledore. They could easily choose someone in their 50s and make him appear older with stage makeup, etc...

I honestly wish the movies could have gone for American actors. Robin Williams would have made a great Hagrid! I absolutely loved Robbie's version of Hagrid but Robin would have been great too!

Now that they are allowing American actors on the show I wonder who else we could get.

I don't really care who they cast for the harry Potter series though. The most important thing for me is that they play the role well and they don't mess up the original.
