I am scheduled in September to receive LASIK PKR surgery on my eyes. Has anyone received LASIK that can describe their experience? The PKR method is a 5 day recovery versus the 24 hour recovery of primary LASIK method.

A co-worker of mine had it done... He said that it was the best decision he ever made. Not having to wear glasses or contacts was a massive relief to him.

He did say it was a bit odd going through the process. And the next day kinda sucked since he couldn't open his eyes. After that his eyes were bloodshot for a week and people thought he was tired/stoned.

I stick to glasses and contacts. I don't trust anyone with a laser anywhere near my face. I don't care what kind of degree they have.

Contacts can be just as dangerous. There is a story where a woman continuously had an eye infection and they performed a more indepth look and found a contact from 28 years ago. http://www.foxnews.com/health/2018/08/15/lost-contact-found-in-womans-eyelid-28-years-later.html

Contacts indeed aren't a perfect foil for non-perfect vision, but this young lady's situation was unique. She was hit in the eye during a sport activity. Her lens apparently was absorbed by the cyst she received after being hit in the eye. As a person who doesn't play Badminton, I think I'll be fine. 😉

Day 1 after surgery. My vision is 20/25 at the moment. Still a little blurry but massively better than before. Eyes feel like I got sucker punched in both eyes. Swelled up this morning. Around 5am, they hurt so bad it woke me up and they were watering so bad it was running down my neck. Right now, they are just burning and feels like something is under my eyelid.

Sunday Update on LASIK:
My vision is a little better than yesterday. I can at least read somewhat on a piece of paper. Eyes still burning and feel like I was punched in both eyes.
