Has anyone here successfully learned a language through Codecademy? I tried a long time ago, but I got bored too quickly and gave up, hahaha. They have a good website, but it seems a little tedious. I'd rather read a book on coding or tutorials on the internet, but that's just personal preference.

I agree slightly 🙂
One of the biggest problems with any programming tutorial these days is that they are monotonous. I have done their Python, Ruby and Javascript courses but it took a great deal of motivation to make it to the end!

I agree with what's already been said. I tried it once, and got bored quickly. I took a computer programming class. I got bored of farmers and zombies pretty quickly.

I have gone through several of their courses and I really enjoy how it's interactive like that... I really wish they would add more, or make the courses a little more in depth because they're really easy to work through in a short period of time.

It is pretty simple and easy to use, you just need to be dedicated enough to finish the course.

I successfully learned how to code HTML and CSS.

I have actually completed codeacademy courses for HTML & CSS, Javascript, PHP.

I personally liked it mainly because of it being interactive.

Yeah, I agree. It was very interactive. Good for more "hands on" people.

Wow! That site looks pretty cool! I'll have to sign up and catch up on PHP! 🙂

I liked it. I do prefer Khan Academy more.
I'm also a big fan of Khan Academy. I'm guessing you're not really one of the "hands on" type of person that you were talking about? 😛

When I picked up Python, I jumped through some of the Codeacademy tutorials. I really enjoyed it.

If you are serious about javascript or ruby and don't mind spending a bit of money then try code school. I can't recommend it enough, really. Some of the highest quality and engaging courses online.

Code-academy should be named sleep-academy cause doing their tutorials is like fighting the effectiveness of a sleeping pill.
