Some are saying music downloads have driven down the incentive to make music. However, I'm sure that's not the only opinion. Any idea?

Music quality, vocal quality, the who shabang has gone down. My daughter tells me it's just what is being played on the radio that's bad and if you go to clubs (which I don't), you'll find that's where the really good music is.

Copyright maybe! Then there is the licences to consider and for old odd music they won't have it.

Interesting. I want to research.

What do you mean?

Are we receiving as heartfelt music as what was once produced? I would say yes, for the most part, we are. However, I believe there are many more musicians in the pool these days and that allows for the popularity of some less talented music to stand out more than those that actually deserve it.

There has always been bad music given airplay - but at least, in the past it seems there was SOME good music.

Yeah, it all boils down to who can market better - actually. I just hope my drum lesson stuff is worth the hoopla!

What do you mean?
you know, just can't play songs without permissions.. even you paid for it.. regards playing or uploading it

I don't mean COPY U2 etc.. I mean, produce music that sounds as good, but is original.

To be sincere, music quality has gone down a bit compare to what we had in the 90s. Some people no longer care on what they listen to, all they care about is the rhythm and beats in the music.
