Have you ever been part of a forum that has been hacked?

I was sad to see that TNG has been hacked again and all the posts have been deleted... -🙁-

yep ihave the other week. yous probably know as i made a big fuss over it. oh and dyoo no fowler that it was probably your forum who got justfooty and tng hacked as the person who hacked mines. EGG claimed he had an account in fp with a different name in a post 1 time.

This is my fault how? Only because he claimed to be a member here (could be a blantent lie) doesn't mean that it is our fault. TNG was not hacked by anyone here and i am 100% sure of that as it was hacked by someone who lives close to some of the TNG's members and Sports Pro (their admin) so i think it was someone they knew that thought they were cool to hack a forum.

Well I dont think anyone from here joined TNG and I cant see why anyone would want to join your forum which is packed with lies. Your forum didnt even get hacked it got disabled and all posts deleted, and do you think if someone was to hack your forum they would say 'O ye I was a member at forumpromotion' unless they wanted to try to blame us. We are not responsible anyway if you forum gets hacked as your the one who is advertising here.

As Fowler said, TNG was hacked once by someone I don't know.
But just recently, someone got sportspro22's password and pruned the entire forum, changed sportspro22's name to carsonk and put up in my name, "TNG SUCKS" or something along those lines. I noticed he had changed sportspro22's name to carsonk when the user only had 150 posts. Later I get a PM from sportspro22 on another forum that his neighbor (also known as the old banned user Cosmic) guessed his password and got in. So thankfully for Yukon, who got us a domain now known as http://thenintendogamers.net started up a new The Nintendo Gamers. We have started out pretty good. I think we might be able to get that 1000 posts in a week again. I think that should be my goal.

yes efc i understand that fp takes no responsibilty im just sad that we lost 113 posts a member an got our board disabled. and i had to get an admin from pcpros to fixit god knows how he did it though cos id been banned and couldnt get back into post or get to acp.

Listen CR you own PCpros so dont be saying they fixed it for you because your they only one there. Also I have heard you lost 2-8 members on various forums.

well originally it was 2. then it we randomly had 5 members dissapear. so it works out about 8.

My forum never been hack. Part of it is due that its a proboard forum. Those thing are almost unhackable. -8)-

It was all reversed within a matter of a few hours (except the mass email sent out... Once those are sent, they are sent), the backup I had was a day old so a little bit of posts were lost.

I remember that ordeal. I vaguely remember getting the email and thinking, "huh?" Although I don't remember what it said. I remember we were sending you various emails wondering what was going on and things like that.

Chatting Time was just hacked a second time not too long ago, which is why I almost gave up forums in general. Thankfully, everything was restored, and while quite a few posts were lost, we were able to get back up and full-functioning.

I have never found myself or a forum I have been on hacked but I know forums that people have attempted to hack - FAIL!
Although an admin at a forum three years ago kidded on it was hacked on April fools day while changes were getting made so he made us all think it got hacked for an hour or so.

Of all the pranks that people play on their forums on April Fools day, I gotta say that pretending the site was hacked has got to be one of the worst. I should put in a word in my staff lounge on my forum about playing pranks like this. I definetly won't allow it.

My futurama forum got hacked. I made a member who we all trusted a moderator. As a moderator he was then able to turn himself into an admin and deleted 3000 posts which probably would have been more had I not have stopped him. But apart from that, nope.
