Sometimes when I'm waiting in line or in a waiting room or something I get to talking to people around me and sometimes I get to talking about subjects that could easily transition to me talking about my forum. I sometimes think that if I had business cards to hand out then it would make word-of-mouth advertising so much easier. Of course, they could always "lose" the card or whatever but there IS a chance that they might actually check out the site. Is this too much a far fetched idea? ...or is it something that you might consider utilizing yourself?

Business cards could work; I do not normally socialize all that much and then have it turn into a conversation about my forum. However I do see the potential about business cards, and if you do them correctly you could even customize them to match your forums theme. :lol:
Business cards are probably better than handing out flyers, something about business cards stick with people more so than a giant piece of paper.

Business cards work rather well, in terms of networking, and getting people to visit the site you want to get out in the world, and depending on where you hand them out, depends on whether or not someone might mention you on the air via radio, or online, and thus bringing traffic to your site.

I've used them before - not for a forum though. I think they are much more useful for some form of informative blog or service that you offer than a forum. It seems, from my discussions, that although forums are popular - they kind of go ignored by a large percentage of the population. I suppose you can get business cards pretty cheap so it is worth a try though.
VistaPrint had a great sale 500 business cards for $10. I've been placing my cards in coffee shops and other places that have bulletin boards with other adverts. I don't know if it's working but I know it doesn't hurt my blog. 😉

If im providing a service or product, then I will use business cards, but for general forums or niche forums then I usually dont bother!

In order for that to work, you need to know the right people and places to get the most out of the experience.
I like the idea of business cards, personally. It could be a very effective way of getting your forum/site name out there. They're very cheap to order so that's a plus. You could add your forum link and a catchy slogan, perhaps. Stick a graphics design image on and you're all set! 😀
It is definitely a great idea, especially since you can also place business cards in the right spots for people to find them. Also like mentioned, when in conversation it can be a great transition.

Honestly, I've never really thought about using business cards. That would actually be an excellent idea, especially for iZimmbiRADIO! If we could get more music, we could have better shows and more listeners! I may actually look into this.
Though, for things like forums, I'm not sure how well business cards would work. Unless the forum in question offers specific products or something, I'd think it wouldn't work very well at all. I guess it would really just be a matter of preference.
