Have you ever met someone famous unexpectedly? I'm talking about those random moments when you're just going about your day maybe grabbing coffee, waiting in line at the grocery store or walking down the street and suddenly you realize that person next to you is actually someone you've seen on TV or in movies.. Were they super friendly and down-to-earth, or did they seem like they just wanted to be left alone? And most importantly.. did you totally freeze up and forget how to act like a normal human being, or did you play it cool?
Okay, so I didn't "meet" them...but I was working in Chicago in the late 1980s and Mike Ditka (Chicago Bears coach) got out of a car and went into the Post Tribune building on Michigan Avenue, right in front of me!
In the 1990s, I went to lunch at Gold Coast hot dogs with a friend and he pointed out quietly that John Malkovich was right behind me. I had no idea who he was though LOL
OH and one more!! Barbara Bush (wearing her white pearls) was in a limousine going down Wacker Drive, and she had her window rolled down and was waving to everyone who was stopped at Michigan Ave. I waved!
Yesh it was a local TV presenter. I just got into a mall and the lady was walking out. For a minute I turned to stare. She just greeted and walk away though.
I have ran into a very famous musician in my country at a place that I went to deliver clothes for my client. I didn't believe my eyes when I saw this guy that is a nationally recognised musician there. But I kept my composure.
