I recently noticed multiple charges on one of my credit cards that I did not authorize. I went back and looked and the company had denied all the purchases but I was never notified of these charges or that my card information had been compromised! It was also weird because it was the same person/address for all three charges that went all the way back from October of last year!

Yeah. The third charge was when I noticed it and I freaked out calling the company and they put a stop on it. Apparently they’d stopped the other two the year before too but didn’t give me any kind of notice that weird activity was happening on my account. 🤦🏼‍♀️

A few times, yes! Thankfully, the credit card company was quick to act once I realized the charges were there. They reversed the charges and cancelled the card to send me a new one. The downside was I had to use a different card for a while (that card was my main card since I get rewards from it, so I use it for everything and pay it back off to get the rewards) until I got the new card, but it was a minor inconvenience compared to what could've happened.

I think the third time it happened, the bank offered to email me card info so I could use tap to pay (which is what I use pretty much anyways since it's more secure) and continue using the card, but I declined that because I didn't feel comfortable with having my future card info in my email in case something happened with that.

Yes, we had fraudulent charges on one type of card and it happened each year for about 3 years in a row. We catch it right away because my husband gets every purchase sent as an alert to his phone. The card is good about removing the purchases, but here's the thing, they don't go after the person! Why? It cost more to go after them!! Crazy!

It's never happened to me but regardless it's always best to use a credit card rather than a debit card because they generally offer much better protection against fraud.
