Have you gained access to something you shouldn't?

Well i followed this tutorial and gained access to a 5k posts forum with 100odd members
i did this because the site was using an illegal script 🙂

i gained access to everyone's email , passwords ( they are hashed though )

Don't worry i havent touched , defaced the forum in anyway im just saying guys stay away from nulled scripts :biggrin:

I tried to once. I actually got into the administrators account but it came up on the logs and he changed his password. :lol: I disliked the forum though. I wouldn't do it to any forum I like such as FP. 😉

Its all a learning curve really , its really useful because you can learn and do security checks on your own forum too .

I have never try to hack site but I have try to guess the site owner's password once.

It's not very smart to admit all this, just shows you're not trustworthy if you actually do things like this.

REGARDLESS of if they were running an illegal script, that is still wrong of you. You're not any better then them.

And true. Do unto others as you would like to be done unto yourself. And if they were running a nulled script and you wanted to take the moral high ground, you should have reported them to the company that owns the script (the IPS for IPB or Jellsoft, for vB).

I don't have the ability to even start "Hacking" a site or forum. I would love to learn though not so i could do anything maliciously but so i am more knowledgeable when it comes to what things you look out for when looking for weaknesses in a site so i can make it sites i am part of more secure and make it harder for hackers.

I know people that you supposedly call " hackers " from hackers lounge in yahoo chat back in the day. But never really interested to learn how to hack. Probably will someday not to do something illegal tho. Just to see if I can do it. 😛
