Have you lost a backup for your old forums and started over?

I try to make sure I always have backups. It's extremely important, especially if your site has a ton of content/members.

I have lost my site in the past due to not taking regular backups, I'll never let it happen again.

Has it happened to you?

No, never. I've seen too many people and organisations lose years of work and data. I've also seen a large number of backups fail because the backup procedure was inadequate and the backup never tested.

I've never lost a backup but I have restarted a forum in the past because I couldn't move hosts. I know better now that if I'm wanting to make a community, I need to either just stick to what platform I pick or simply pick a platform I can easily make backups on to move if I want or need to.

No, I have not. I have always backed my database and website files locally and also in cloud.

I am a new forum owner and I have learned lessons from someone's mistakes.
