Having a custom domain name

Hi guys , I created my forum using forumotion , you might be knowing it . Now I want to have my customized domain name (like www.abc.net instead of www.abc.forumotion.net) . Do I have to buy my domain name from forumotion itself ? Or can I go for any other cheap site that provides domain name ? Sorry to ask , but I a complete newbie in this domain thing .

You need to buy credits, ACP>Misc>Buy Credits>Go from there ^_^

For 1600 credits ($20.57 USD) you can have a personalized domain name for one year. You can at anytime delete it and retrieve your default domain name. This is if you purchase the domain from forumotion. They sell .com, .net, .org and .biz.

Or it you have one I believe you can configure it through your ACP. ACP, General, Forum Address, Personalized Domain Name then enter your domain in the first text field. :yes:

Just went back and did the math. To purchase 1,600 credits it will cost you 20.57 USD exactly. 4 1/2 bucks off from what I said before.

Ya , I know about it . But is there any way to get a domain name from somewhere else for a cheaper price ? I mean , do I have to buy from forumotion itself ?

Why not just redirect it? It lets you do that with co.cc so I think you should be able to do it with any.
