Having problems setting up..

Hey everyone, I'm going to make it quick so you don't need to read to much 😀

Since it's my first time running a forum and getting used to it I have a few questions and problems.

First here is some info:
Forum: http://forumz.corehost.co.nz/
Software : Latest version Phpbb

I have been having problems regarding the making of the forum, the categories aren't showing up on my part and I don't really know what the equired standards and settings of a good forum are, also are there any plugins or programs you recommend for a new starting forum. That's why I would like to ask for someone to lend me a small hand in learning how to optimize my forum..

Here is a small background so you know what the forum is about;
It's a fantasy themed RPG forum. For people to create their own environment. They can create there own character, jobs, town they can make government or chose who rules where. They choose everything; politics, economy, military you name it.

The categories aren't showing up for me either. If you PM me and make me an admin, I can check it out for you. I've used phpBB before.

EDIT: Sorry, I forgot you have to make 5 posts before you can send a PM.

You need to make a board inside a category before the category will show up.

You need to make a board inside a category before the category will show up.

And set permissions for it too, if I remember correctly. Usually after you set up a forum, it will ask for you to set up the permissions for the boards to be visible.
