Hazey.In

Thanks for posting. 🙂 One of us will tag this request soon and complete the review.

Here are a few quick thoughts:
- Many of the colors in your theme feel a bit understated. The text isn't very bold, and is a bit hard to read. The logo is easy to miss. When you hover the mouse over an item on the top menu, you can barely see the menu's text.
- The mod you have which hides the original post of a thread is an interesting idea, but won't that hurt your SEO pretty badly?
- It feels a bit odd where you can mouseover a subforum and the subforum name turns bright blue, but when you mouse over a top-levrel forum, it does not turn blue (this is on the forum index).

Good luck! 😀

First Impressions
[note]========== BEGIN - First Impressions ==========[/note]
I have to admit, I wasn't too impressed with how the forum looked when I first visited the site. I saw a logo that was rather basic and plain and small, I saw a very ugly navigation bar that has obviously been over-crowded to fit the extra links. I think that you need to get that navigation bar sorted, the first impression, for me, was spoiled by the logo and navigation bar. Simply because it doesn't look very well maintained.

Straight from the start, I knew that Audentio Design created this theme. Normally, their work is very good. However, this theme was not so good. The colors were hurting my eyes and the width of the forum was very, very narrow. Text was very hard to read because of how small it was and it seemed to be fading into the background it was on. The theme really, seemed like a very poorly made, IPB version of the ThemeFreak theme "Sleek" with major color modifications.

Very Poor

Site Statistics
[note]========== BEGIN - Site Statistics ==========[/note]
I have to admit, I was not sure what was going on with the activity. Many of the forums had not been posted in recently and some of them hadn't been posted in for months. Sure, you may have 7,025 posts, but made when? Early-Mid 2014? The activity rates of the forum really disappointed me and would drive many visitors away and deter them from registering. You had three members posting today, you with 13 posts today and the other two following up with 3 and 2 posts. You really need to make the forum look a bit more active and even so, get your staff team active once again.

Very Poor

Final Remarks
Yet again, another general discussion forum that has all of the unoriginal content and all of the same categories and forums with just a different order. It's going to be very hard to get some activity, but you should still try. I wish you the best of luck!

To be honest the site isn't attractive. It doesn't feel like a general discussion forum. The theme is bland and it doesn't make me want to post. It's plain and needs replacing as soon as possible. To be honest you have got too many staff members 2 admins is fine, but I don't see the use of 8 other staff members. Maybe that is a reason why your not getting members too overstaffed. I think you need to get other members to post, so maybe have a posting contest? How about a Facebook page and a twitter page. You can get quite a bit of traffic from social media. I don't see why a shout-box is there, it distracts people from the forum and doesn't encourage people to post. Some sections need a bit of TLC like the education section has 8 topics but the sport section has 80 topics. You need to variey your content and spread it all out.

Hi guys like respond to few comments if I may, the first one the theme/skin will be changed with better logo and style clearly not best theme but was quick and easy to choose that one, the staff level you talk about Evil do need be sorted most from merge and it's only been day two so we tweaking items, as for shoutbox Evil as not member would have worked out need posts use it.

But thank you to all you so far for the review.

I am not a big fan of the idea behind hiding the first post of a topic and trying to get people to register to see it. It does give off the impression that you are a bit desperate to get people to sign up and that can be off putting. I would refer to see a forum with 20 members that I knew signed up because they wanted to rather than a forum with 100 members with me knowing that alot of them signed up because they wanted to read a post or 2 and that was it. People sign up because they like what they see. If they don't see much, they are less likely to join. Forcing people to join will not turn them into active members.

I did also try signing up but your registration page was confusing. I entered all my information, entered the ReCAPTCHA and accepted the terms. Then there was a Create Account button. Under that was a section to select your birthday which I filled in. Under that was a continue button. I hit continue and lost everything I entered. It was confusing and wasted my time so in the end I haven't bothered joining. Might want to look into that.

Personally I'm not a fan of forums being merged together to make a big one, especially old forums being merged together which makes the community look very inactive. As far as I know Hazey was originally started in somewhere between 2012-13 and it still has some content from those years, I think you should have started afresh, it'd all be better in a way. Guests hate seeing 'dead' forums and had you started afresh maybe that wouldn't have been the case.

As for the current skin, the green hurts the eye and if I be honest, it's very poor. The side-bar on the left is very 'annoying'. I'd rather keep those links near the header and remove the side-bar. The first look I saw was very discouraging for guests in my opinion. A very simple logo, an annoying side-bar and a rather unpleasant green. I also disliked the black background to the header, it doesn't match up with your theme at all.

I see various inactive sections, for instance you have a section which hasn't been posted in since May 2014, that is very poor. As far as I see you have two administrators, I think the two of you could definitely try post in those inactive sections because it gives the guest an horrible impression of your forum and the guest wouldn't like to be a part of an inactive boring forum.

They're just my suggestions, overall the forum doesn't look very pleasant at all and you need to work on a lot of things in my opinion.

The theme has been removed as the birthday section was bug on that theme only, i have also removed the hook allow guest only read the first message.

Do you plan on sticking with the Subway theme? If so, I recommend changing the default colors around (Which Subway lets you do pretty easily). I'm not a fan of the Subway default red color, as it can be pretty painful to the eyes. I think there's a topic on the IP.Focus support forums which tells you how to change the default colors.
