Health Chat & Updates thread

The results of my biopsy reported that they can't absolutely confirm the presence or absence of malignant disease. ugh. So now I wait to see what my doctor says. There is a gene testing called Afirma that they might send the samples to, so maybe that's the next step and it takes up to 6 weeks to get results back for that. My doctor might also just say to monitor for growth over the next few months. I dunno.

Here's hoping for the best, that it's not malignant and that there is no more growth

If everyone here shares their health problems, then I want to do the same. Lately I have been feeling bad, the weather in my city is not very good, it is cold, windy and wet. It makes me feel terrible. Especially in the spring, when there is a vitamin deficiency, it is very easy for me to get sick. So I think it's time to order my favorite vitamins from a link removed to finally feel better

That sounds horrible, I'm sorry you're dealing with that. I hope everything clears up quickly for you!

Oh no, I hope that you start feeling better very soon!

I can relate. Even my mental state has had it's ups and downs. The good thing is I have endured and gotten through a lot of those bad things.
That's the main part, pushing through and trying to stay strong!

It's been over 10 days since my biopsy report hit the portal and my doctor or nurse practitioner hasn't contacted me. I am astounded that they do this and I have to pester them to tell me what's next or seek help. The hospital they're affiliated with his opening a smaller hospital 15 minutes from me next year, so I'm hoping other doctors will be in the building and I can switch to someone else. This is so aggravating to have to wait and then try to get them to do their jobs.

I hope they do have other doctors available when they open the smaller clinic. Pretty ridiculous they've had 10 days to get in touch, though, for something like this especially, they should be on top of it!

It's hard to believe it's been over 10 days since the report came in and they haven't bothered to contact me. They don't even have to do it by phone, message me on the portal! Takes 2 minutes.

Absolutely! That's how my doctors do it every time, it's really convenient that way and it takes no time at all for them. That they haven't is really awful.

The news is good! Based on my numbers, the doctor called this evening and said that it's benign...not cancer. I'll have my normal appointment in July.

I’m glad it was good news for you Katrina!

I’ve been having problems sleeping which have gotten progressively worse over the last year or so, to the point where even though I’ve ‘slept’ for 6 hours I’ll wake up exhausted. I’ve been back and forward to the docs about it and tried various medications of which none have helped so far. I’ve finally been added to the waiting list for a sleep study.

Good luck with your sleep stuDy, those are a pain, but worth it!

Yeah I know it’s gonna be a total pain but hopefully they can give me some sort of resolution to it! It’s at least a 12 month wait right now.

Do you currently use a cpap for sleep? I have a few friends who say that they would wake up exhausted and needed a cpap to get a good night's sleep. I hope that you get the sleep study done soon!

Yeah, it could very well be sleep apnea

No I don’t use a CPAP, the issue isn’t so much that I’m not sleeping, I’m apparently just incredibly restless when I sleep (which I’m unaware of), my partner describes it as me trying out for the olympics 😲

A lot of people who have sleep apnea have those symptoms. Do you snore?
