I just checked my heart rate and it is at 140..is that normal? Lol

What does your heart rate usually stay around?

I'm not sure if that's normal or not to be honest.

My heart rate is around the 70's/80's.

If that is your resting heart rate, that's certainly not normal. For exercising, that's pretty normal and is actually on the lower end of what your heart can handle.

My heart rate hovers around 60 bpm, sometimes a bit lower. Depending on what you do, you may have an average that's a little higher and it could be just fine.

It said 140 when I checked my blood pressure and pulse yesterday. It usually stays around 100-105 even when I'm not exercising. It does scare me a little because both of my parents have had heart attacks and my heart flutters sometimes. It might have something to do with my anxiety though.

Heart palpitations or "flutters" are actually quite common so I don't see that being something to worry about. ^.^

I'd definitely get it checked out. As someone has already pointed out if you're exercising then that is pretty normal and on the lower end but for a resting heart rate it seems quite high. Your doctor will give you advice on how to lower it or maybe prescribe you something.

I'm only 15 though. 😛

All the more reason to get it checked out. Anything to do with your heart get it checked out ASAP. It's not worth the risk!

That is high blood pressure for not doing anything. Have you been having any anxiety lately?

I've always dealt with anxiety but it hasn't been as bad the past few weeks as it usually is. I'm not sure if it's that or not.

Has it always been like that? Numbers above 100 can be normal for some people, especially those who don't exercise often. But 140 is a bit too high for resting heart rate. I think the younger you are, your heart rate may be faster. But again, 140 is pretty high for normal condition.

You also said you often feel your heart flutter. Does it happen often?
