I am unsure on this reboot. I loved the original Hellboy movies with Ron Perlman because they were unique and done by the amazing Guillermo del Toro.

They tried another remake of this with David Harbour from Stranger Things. It didn't get as much praise as maybe it should have. I reckon this one should have had Abe Sapien as he's my favorite character and was portrayed amazingly by Doug Jones in Del Toro's films. I just didn't really think much of Harbour's performance if compared to Perlman's.

Brian Taylor did direct Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance so he's good with the comic book films but I just hope if they do go through with this reboot they put a lot of effort into the characters.

Why does it need a reboot.
The other films were good, continue it.
Stop overthinking, Hollywood.

Here we go again, I have seen the last films and to be honest, they are not the biggest films that I just want to watch. The main cast is so old they be walking with walking sticks.

I am surprised to hear they're rebooting it. I wonder what that entails - the smartest thing they could do is have a small budget, more-grounded film, makes it more likely to recoup the investment and, with a more modest scope and a good director, you could ideally make a good action-horror film. I feel they always think like "Men in Black" or look to modern Marvel movies, when they should instead look to something like Evil Dead II.

They bombed. Honestly, all three of them.
They bombed, yes, but it really requires marketing. I thought that the films didn't have any problems with regards to story, likeness, or whatever. People, I think, don't know Hellboy, isn't familiar with it or isn't invested enough to care.

So they need to market it to people they intend the movie for. They were banking on people from the 80's to go watch it in droves.

This isn't X-men, gotta treat it as a new franchise. Rebooting ain't gonna solve it. But Hollywood is gonna Hollywood.

An update:
Brian Taylor says his Hellboy reboot will be a "creepy folk horror" film with a very different feeling compared to the previous Hellboy movies.
