I'm honored to have found this site of Forum professionals and hope to become a contributing member.
A lil about me. I own some motorcycle forums. One is experiencing some good growth, 700 members in five months, 15,000 or so posts, 1,800 threads and three paying vendors/advertisers.
My other bike forums are just getting started, as they are new bikes and one hasn't even been offically released yet.
I am a newbie, in every aspect but sales/marketing and have put together a basic SEO system that seems to be working for me as most of my forums rank #1 in SEO for the keyword.
Coding, SQL, programming, Graphic Design, I have no skills at all so I went with Proboards for all of my forums and converted my busy forum to Forums.net, which allows me to export the database after six months.
