I'm playing SimCity 4 right now myself.

SimCity 4. Mmmm. I always played the expansion, due to the availability of a little bit more money to start out with, depending on the difficulty. Though I remember downloading a in game addition, that was labeled as the money tree, which gave 25 million per month, or whatever it was, which made things much easier to try to get a big city quickly.
