I was expecting to be let down by Amazing Spider-Man #700. Or feeling a bit of indignant anger like that one time with a Wakandan Cat God letting Doom do something that should have been a no no. BUT. I didn't feel that at all. Sure I felt a little sad, and also felt it was kind of rushed. But its not something to get all bent out of shape over like some fans have gotten. Course I could be saying that simply cause I'm not a hard core fanatic of Spidey. As for Mary Jane, if she's as smart as she hopefully is. And as long as he keeps acting the way does since he did what he did. She'll realize sooner or later what's up with him.
