Wow, it has rained all day here. There were flood warnings all day, and there are a few roads nearby that are underwater. A lot of schools are going in two hours late tomorrow, so I hope my school is one of them (or hey, no school tomorrow would be even better). 🙂

You'll have to listen to announcements on the radio in the morning (or however they do it where you live. Where I live they announce school delays/cancellations on the radio.)

Re: The Official Hello/Goodbye Thread #3

I have been constantly checking the website of a local news station. There are a bunch of schools closed around us, but of course, my school just so happens to be one of the schools who is having a normal day. There hasn't been a closure or two hour delay reported for us. 🙁

Sounds like our public school system. As far back as I can recall, Grafton Public Schools has probably only cancelled schools possibly twice. One of the times being back in 1997 when we kept getting hit with one blizzard after another, finally ending with Blizzard Hannah sometime in April. That was also the year my Mom and step-dad got married, and they weren't sure they'd be able to hold the wedding that weekend because the power kept getting cut off because of the storm. In the meantime, the following week (I think?) we ended up staying in school past 3:00 because we'd lost so much time the week before. Now days, the system will do like the one or two hour late thing, and they'll do like no morning buses or no after school or morning ESP (extended School Program) but it's been ages since they last cancelled out because of bad weather. We could be in for a No Travel Advisory and it still wouldn't matter. Oh, and lets not forget the rule that all rural kids must have a storm home in town... :grrrrr:

It is coming my way now. I was hoping that it would come in the morning and afternoon tomorrow so that we could keep the kids inside after school. 😛

Ontario. Not fun, would be much more fun if they'd cancelled the buses 😛

I believe that it is located in Canada, it's a straight shot from Michigan.

Yeah, it's a province in Canada. Right above the northeast USA.

Do they tend to close classes? Because a sheet of ice would warrant a snow day to me.
