Also it's my mother's 80th today...would be wonderful if I could talk to her and share a special moment with her today...I miss that. Ah well, life of a caregiver, just get up and get on with looking after her.

Just keeping it simple. Making her a special meal of foods she likes. She doesn't understand what today is, and too much excitement confuses her, so best to keep it simple.
