It is good to volunteer to services, then it shows two things, You care for the community and You have experience. I wish you luck with getting the paid job in the end! 🙂
 
It is similar to what I have been doing. I have been volunteering to help people do their family history, and as time goes on, it is helping me to learn different techniques on how to do research, which entails me a better wage in the future, if I do turn to charging to help people with their Genealogy (Hourly wages for those who know allot, to being certified with a certain group, can go from $30 an hour, to $150 an hour).

But that is a whole different ball field in itself.

Morning, everyone! All of my classes were cancelled again today for the snow and ice!

Heh! It's kind of getting boring sitting at home though. Plus, I'm hungry and there's not much food here. 🙁
