Laptops are dead costly where I live. Especially after everyone going online.

I'm honestly not sure, in our house we use Roku TVs, affordable and they do the job.

Roku is a platform/OS-ish (android, I think), but companies such as TCL offer Roku TVs, so it's an all-in-one sort of thing.

Yeah, hardware + Roku OS + Roku Channel (and other streaming apps). So everything in one 😀

Everyone gets Android TVs here. Not very costly, works great, lots of apps etc etc.

People still like to use cable TV for regional content. Streaming is mostly YouTube.

Yeah, that's pretty much what TCL is, they make the Roku TVs, they're affordable compared to the super expensive ones. There are still cheaper options than that available, but TCL seem to be the most "successful" of the bunch.
