Hello all!

I’m Grant, I’ve been running forums for 20 years! Started on Matt’s WWWBoard script, and worked my way up to YaBB and then vBulletin.

Currently in the process of moving my 20 year old forum over to Xenforo, and have also just launched a new forum on a completely different subject!

Nice to be here!

A 20 year old forum? Nice! Did you start with dial up?

Welcome to FP!

Welcome to FP! 20 years is a long time! Great job on that success 🙂

Sure did! Don’t miss that at all!!!

Me neither! The first board I joined was dial up and sometimes I couldn't connect and other times when I did the lag was so much that I'd have to hang up and try again. Ah, but it was nice to communicate with other adults since I was a new mom back then and stuck at home.

How’s the moving process going?? That must be an insane move!

And welcome!!

Lots of new people latetly, welcome to FP! In my 19th year personally of running forums as well, so know where your coming from with dial-up!

Hello and welcome! It's great to have you here. 🙂 It's pretty amazing that you have a twenty year old board that is still going!!

Hey Grant! Welcome to our community. I’ve never heard of WWWBoard before, but I’ve used YaBB. It’s crazy how much forum software has changed since then.

Let me know if you need anything at all. 🙂

I’m doing it as slowly as carefully as possible.

I’ve read through about 25 different forums that have moved from VB->XF to get an idea of the type of gripes member have after moving so I can be prepared!

It’s amazing how much it’s changed, but also how much has stayed the same. XF2 isn’t a great deal different from YaBB in terms of how it works really. I think forum software needs a bit of a kick up the bum!

WWWboard on the other hand is very basic... Demo here: https://www.scriptarchive.com/demos/wwwboard/wwwboard.html
