HI everyone. I'm Dani, founder of https://www.daniweb.com, a tech forum I started back in 2002.

I used to be super active in the vBulletin community back in the early 2000s, but I haven't been since switching to my own proprietary platform in 2013ish. Nowadays I'm mostly active on The Admin Zone and BigBoardAdmin.

We used to be incredibly popular but Google hasn't really been treating us very kindly these last handful of years, and our community has all but entirely died off in the process. I'm motivated to revitalize the site and came here for some assistance in figuring out how to move forward.

Welcome to FP! That's exciting that you have such a huge board!

Not really, unfortunately. I started DaniWeb in 2002 while I was a college sophomore, and by 2013, it was one of the top 500 most popular websites on the Internet, with 12 million monthly pageviews, and over a million registered users.

Since then, as the result of some disastrous business mistakes coupled with some ongoing health challenges, DaniWeb is no longer popular at all. In addition, just about our entire moderation team bailed, as did all of our forum regulars.

We are now left in this position where we have a huge archive of old posts, but we're pretty much starting from complete scratch in terms of building up traffic and building a community from the ground up.

I'm glad to be here though!

I don't think it would take long to get you active again. Especially if former members catch on that you're back in action. You may have some loyal people who get excited to see things revived.

Malcoln, thank you so much for gifting me so many FP$s! 🙂 Katrina, thank you for your contribution as well. What a great way to get started here!

Maul, it's nice to meet you as well.

I've sent you a cookie! Always nice to have new members 🙂

Thank you Kale and Gary.

As I'm learning how to navigate around here, is there a place I can see how/where/when I earned FP$s or keep track how many I have? I wasn't able to find anywhere.

@DaniWeb Welcome to FP! It's nice to meet you 🙂
For your question, in your Postbit, it shows how much FP$ you have but not how/where/when you would have received it. Only in your Alerts if somebody donated FP$ to you or you donated to another.
Did you need further assistance with your question?

If that functionality doesn't already exist, I just think that it would be good to be able to track FP$ over time. For example, it seems that since that's the main form of currency around these parts, being able to see how you earned it and how you chose to spend it would be a good stat for people to track over time. It might encourage people to post more by seeing how much they earned for each post, etc.

For example, on my site, members earn or lose reputation points over time, and we have a little graph in their profile that turns it into an "e-peen" statistic: https://www.daniweb.com/members/1/dani

Currently, accessing this is by going to Shop > Transactions. Not the greatest place for it, but on the list of things to improve.

Hey Dani! It's a pleasure to have you here. Welcome to FP. 🙂

Give me a holler if you need anything.
