Ok I got reviewed months ago and basically got my ass handed to me lol. I seemed to have done everything known to man including paid advertising through Google which isnt working(because I haven't been charged for any clicks..hmmmmm because noone had clicked lol, I have a handful of users but even fewer number of active users. I am still working on my look which is going to be done soon. I have TONS of amenities for my users to do.....Why does it feel like my forum is a ghost town?
Also find other similar forums to your and sign up and post with a link in your sig as the people on a similar forum is your target market so they would all be interested in your forum as on ad forums not everybody will like the subject of your forum as i find cars not that interesting so i wouldn't join it. Forums based on your topic would be much more successful promoting wise i would say.
Im sure you have heard about it before, I have been banned from numerous of similar forums because i did that. They do not allow this. If they do they want like over 100 dollars a month to vend....
Was it just a basic link or did you have some text which may sound like you were trying to steal their members?
If it was more then one forum that banned you because of a link in your sig then there must have been something wrong with it as i rarely see one forum that goes to the length of not allowing similar sites in signatures especially to the point of banning. Most don't care aslong as they don't try and steal their members by saying theres is better or posting links on the forum.
Like evom.net it doesn't matter how big it is, they will ban you for vending or marketing with out paying, and even so they will not allow me to promote another similar forum. I even asked first to be nice and not earn any infractions. Other forums like mine do not like to share. I think its stupid.
some sites allow urls in signitures some don't, on my music forum i don't allow URL's in signitures, but only on that site, just go around to other type of forums, phpbb support forums is a good place or VB support forums, as generally google is always spidering them to your link will get a better ranking
