Do you have a board, topic, etc where members can go if they need assistance? If so, how does it work on your forum?
 
My old forum did. I actually had one of those sections where topics are hidden to people other than the OP for a while, but no one used it. Ever since, I've always thought that it was best to keep support requests public and via PM. It can feel a bit weird to post a thread in a forum that seems empty to you. 😛
 
We have a "New Members" type forum on FP. I don't usually use these types of things unless the forum is pretty active and has a lot of joining members. Otherwise, the forum will be really inactive.
 
Community Kiosk & Commentary is what it is called at my forum. It's just a general place for if you have questions, suggestions, or comments. Most forums have these, and sometimes they do pretty well. I thought of making it to where admins/staff/and only the member who created it could see it but right now it's open to the community.
