This is kind of a spin off on a previously solved topic - viewtopic.php?f=53&t=93368

One of the posters (Pandaa) in there put a link to this site:

http://www.icyphoenix.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=7168

where it tells you how to do this and even at the end gives a site to go to.

Well I am a little confused on what they mean by site root folder etc. Does this also mean that unless you are an administrator of the forum you can't create one of these?

I did currently put the above example as my avatar in my site : http://www.chatouat.com/

but I want to create my own file with images I want...also think this might be cool if I can do it for our site header image...anyway I just need better instructions on how to actually create these files...or maybe I can't as 'my' site is a free forum...anyway if anyone knows anything about how to do this I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance!<br /><br />-- 09 Sep 2012, 13:52 --<br /><br />Also if I am able to create these kind of files somewhere...does anyone know if it would work for our twitter image?

Your root is where you find the software folders ( images, adm, language etc) it also has the .php files in it.

If you are running phpBB3 have a look at this MOD

all you would need to do is change the supplied images for one you want

https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/mod/ ... o_avatar_/

Thanks - although I am still a little confused as to what do I put where...downloaded it and found the images folder...and the site I am on is Invision...so not sure if phpBB3 would work

Sorry I am really a moron when it comes to coding and websites and everything...There is the CSS sheet...not sure if that is where I would put something like this

Open your FTP and it should look something like this :

The root is normally the public_html folder, or the folder than contains all the other files

You are hosted on Forumotion. You would not be able to use the script as you would need to be on your hosting that you pay monthly for in order to access the files and FTP.

Thanks!

I see you do forum hosting...is that something I could get and then create hosted image files? Or maybe I just need to get something like godaddy.com?

Sorry I am not sure what you mean here. And no, never buy anything from GoDaddy if you value your sanity.
