Help with Background

Hey all, I need a bit of help, my site is http://www.mytekzone.co.uk, the background is about 1mb and it make my site load abit slower, can some one help me out to either optimise the image or some other way.

I do see the speed is a little slow?

Can you tell the plugins you are using?

Using too many plugins or error in plugins would also cause speed..

I've got loads running its not down to that but the background image, I was thinking if there a way of optimizing the image.

Do you currently have a small image that is tiled, or one large image?

There are some tile-able wood floor images available online. You could maybe look into that.

it didnt load slow for me but i see what you mean

i see its over 1900 in width so yeah thats pretty big
here is a resize version
that definitely makes the image smaller in file size too

... the smaller image may cause problems concerning for those who have a really large computer screen
unless you make it fixed? not sure

here another version of the background image, still same size as it is right now but i lower down the colours and turned it into jpeg
