Help with New TLD

Hey,

I am having trouble getting my site redirected to the domain I recently got. Currently my site is promovee.ushost247.com. I am trying to change that to simply promovee.com.

What have I done so far?

1) Both Nameservers have been added.
2) I have changed the board URL to promovee.com in the ACP. I am using MyBB.

Any help would be appreciated.

What about in your cPanel?

You need to go into Cpanel and go to add on domains. Then add your domain there. After that you will probably need to move all the files to that folder.

You will also need to changes the cookie settings of MyBB to point to your new domain.

Edit: I should also note it could take up to 48 hours for the dns settings to take effect.

When I got a new domain and wanted to use it on an old hosting account, I had to contact my host to set the cPanel "Main Domain" to my new domain.

Contact the host to have them change the primary domain to the new one you bought. Not sure about your current host, but HostGator allow you to change it yourself at your own discretion.
