I'm having a little problem, I'm making an area on my website to display the latest # checks. I've got a strlen(); on it to check that if it's over # characters it'll display #-3 then follow it by dots.
I've also used strtolower(); this makes the text a bit smaller. However the problem that still remains is the bigger chars such as W.
Here's an example. They are displaying the same amount of characters.:
www.WWWWWWWWWWW...
www.wwwwwwwwww...
www.yourwebsit...

Any idea? how to make the displaying better? It should be able to look like below.
www.wwwwwwwwww...
www.yourwebsite.com
www.forumpromotion....
www.digitalpoint.com
www.thecodzone.com
If you see them URL's above all fit into the area... but because if people enter multiple W's like in the first one then I have to limit the amount of characters lower... and then it ends up cutting off a quarter of a real URL.
