I think it is fixed by Themes > Layout Templates > Mini-Profile.

Try changing this:

{if $[user.group]}
    $[user.group.name]<br />$[user.group.stars]<br />
{elseif $[user.rank]}
    $[user.rank.name]<br />
    {if $[user.rank.stars]}
        $[user.rank.stars]<br />
    {/if}
{/if}

To this (note: make sure you insert an image URL or this won't work):

{if $[user.group]}

    {if $[user.group.name] == "Owner"}
        <img src="IMAGE URL HERE">
    {elseif $[user.group.name] == "Global Moderator"}
        <img src="IMAGE URL HERE">
    {elseif $[user.group.name] == "Moderator"}
        <img src="IMAGE URL HERE">

    {else}$[user.group.name]{/if}
    <br />$[user.group.stars]<br />
{elseif $[user.rank]}
    $[user.rank.name]<br />
    {if $[user.rank.stars]}

Make sure you take a backup first before editing, though.
