Help?

I didn't know where to put this, but i need help with a problem (probably with my computer).

I can get onto every site, forum, blog etc.. that i normally go onto, but when it comes to getting onto MY forum i can't. Everyone else that uses the site says it's fine, but my computer whether its on Internet Explorer or Firefox i can't access it.

Now that would be bad enough BUT i CAN get on it when i use an online proxy server site so i'm overly confused?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Try this.

Open ms-dos or command prompt (depending on your OS) and type the following:

ipconfig /flushdns

Hit enter, then reboot. And try accessing your site again.

What does that do?

Clears out the DNS cache that Windows keeps. If it happens on some other sites around the Internet, may be an ISP problem.

I've also had this problem. Solved the problem by turning the router off then on again.

I'd assume it does the same as what the others have said, it did something to the cache anyway.

Could also be the host file, though I have no idea how it would have gotten into there. Or even an IP block in the htaccess file? Heck your host's server might have banned you...

I'd try the above methods first though.

I wouldn't think they would have banned me, as its my forum. Everybody else can get on it apart from me.
I can get onto it with a proxy is the bit i don't understand.

Even though it is your forum, the server may have blocked you. The firewall on the server automatically blocks IP's that makes too many requests in a short time or fail logins too many times and so on. It has no way of knowing if it is your site or not. It just sees you as an IP address.

Best to ask you host and see if you IP is in the servers firewall.
