You know how forum promotion has a border around the category's?
Well how do you do that? or is it only for phpBB. I'm using IPB or more so Jcink Edition IPB

I assume it would be the background of the background, like having 2 classes, catdesign and catdesign2 , and the blue part of the top and border would be catdesign, and over that goes the gray area which is catdesign2 , something like that I would expect.

Like say you wanted a white border, make a white background maybe 920px wide, and then a black background over thats 900px wide, centered so you have a 10px border either side.

So you have the background of your entire page, and the background of the content.

I think you understood me wrong x.x

I mean the Borders around the categories (FP has a blue Border around them)

the funny thing is that I only see PHPBB with this :/

just wrap the category html with a div and add a border to it or a background color/image and some padding

You may want to do a little reading on CSS before you start modding templates.
