I recently put a small public website online called overwriteme.com. It’s a simple experiment exploring how people behave when attention is scarce and saying something publicly has a real cost.
The site shows one public sentence at a time. Anyone can replace it, but doing so costs money, and the price increases with each overwrite. Previous messages are archived, and whoever holds the current message effectively controls the space until someone values it more.
I’m less interested in monetization than in behavior: what people choose to say when posting isn’t free, visibility is absolute, and permanence is uncertain. Is it humor, signaling, protest, advertising, or silence?
It’s intentionally minimal, live, and observable. I’m here mostly to listen and learn, and I’m open to feedback, critique, or questions from people who find this kind of thing interesting.
