Airbnb alows electronic surveillance devices to be used...but it needs to be conveyed to the guests:
If you’re a host and you have any type of surveillance device in or around a listing, even if it’s not turned on or hooked up, we require that you indicate its presence in your House Rules. We also require you to disclose if an active recording is taking place. If a host discloses the device after booking, Airbnb will allow the guest to cancel the reservation and receive a refund. Host cancellation penalties may apply. https://www.airbnb.com/help/article...t-electronic-surveillance-devices-in-listings

I have been seeing more and more news articles about people renting Airbnbs and finding hidden cameras, some that are recording and others not.

Do you rent from an Airbnb? Are you nervous about potentially having your family recorded or streamed live?

I can understand recording in common living areas and outside of the home for insurance purposes, however, these tapes should be strictly accessed only in the time of need, such as to prove damages, etc. The sleeping quarters would have to be off-limits, though. :stop:

I agree with the recording for insurance or security purposes and wouldn't want bedrooms or bathrooms to be recorded at all. It still would make me uncomfortable staying where there are cameras. I'm more inclined to stick with hotels!
