You can get lost for ages in this book, but it's pretty good, you don't need to pay for it or anything and it has someone from Chrome going into a great deal of detail about things like TCP/IP, wireless networks, HTTP/2, etc. and their impact on performance.

My degree was in networking, so I had to read about all of these in different books. Having it all in one spot is even better.

Mm, it's pretty good.

Also, it's very interesting to hear about the negative effects of polling on mobile battery life in contrast to using things like Push Notifications or WebSockets. That's pretty advantageous for next generation forum software.

I'm still not completely through this book though, it's like an ocean of knowledge lol
