Does anyone hire writers to write on their website?

I have a fledgling news website that focuses on politics. Currently I am the only writer on the site and I can only hash out an article a day. The political world moves much faster than that. I would like to consider hiring a writer to help me out.

The problem is I am not a full time employer. I can't offer anything more than commission based work. I'm not sure what to pay said person or how to go about figuring it out (much less finding a competent writer willing to take on the task!).

If I expect to hire a writer, say, to write a single article a day based on basic web research and comparison of the hottest political topics a day....what exactly would I pay them? What would be fair? Where should I look to find a writer?

Looking for advice and maybe some experience lol.

I've done it previously for Lemonoid.net (which never really went anywhere). We only paid $10 /week for 4-5 articles. The writers mainly did it for the fun and the promise that if we did actually manage to make something of the blog, we would definitely be paying more!

A fair amount is probably $10 / article. It does depend on the quality you expect and the length. You may want to check out: https://www.iwriter.com/pricing.php and Fiverr.

You could also try attracting writers with a revenue share agreement. Plato -xpl0iter- developed an Adsense revenue share for authors plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/revenue-s ... uthorsrsp/.
