You know the homepage of Forum Promotion - how did the guys over here do that? Is there a tutorial anywhere for phpbb3? I'd love to add one on my site, i'm just not sure how they done it. I'd like the same layout as on here, except no 3 boxes at the bottom.

Please help me 🙂

thank you! :cheer:

Thanks for the link, 🙂

Is this what was used over here?

Could someone give me a base guide to the coding of this site? Obvious im going to change it and not copy it. It'd be really helpful!

I just need my skin of it to be the same as my forum with the header area at the top the same. The content can just be like a normal website, but i'd prefer the log in box and right side content like on here.

Well how the front page is made here is simply some PHP code to take the stats and logged in/out information from the forum to the page and some simple HTML to take the templates and CSS from the forum and display them on the page :great:

Thanks for the posts. I followed the first tutorial, however I don't want the Board Index and Search links under the banner. This has been removed on forumpromotion too.

Also, I want to display my wordpress blog code in this content. this is a small php code which works on my front html page : http://www.deadandwalking.com/ however when I type it in on the custom page ( http://www.deadandwalking.com/zombies/aboutus.php )

nothing happens.

Can someone help me? Maybe an admin / ex admin can tell me what they used for their front page?

Thanks!

The easiest way is to install a Modification named "Board 3 Portal", which will add a Portal to your website with all kinds of blocks. You can also create your own custom blocks. Alternatively you can create your own pages, through the link provided earlier on or with a MOD named Static Pages.

Thank you. I'm quite interested in that first link. However, I would want the portal to be in my room folder: http://www.deadandwalking.com/ and my forum to stay in http://www.deadandwalking.com/zombies/ - could this work for that mod?

I'm not sure if that would be possible. You should ask the MOD Author about that. You can also find the phpBB.com Support Topic here.

I think I should wait for a reply from someone who's used the code on here. Just because forumpromotion is the same as my question. The forum here is at /forum/ yet their portal style template is in the root.

Thanks for the posts 🙂

The person who made the homepage is no longer with us and won't be of any assistance. The homepage here is a custom built website and not a portal, unless your a good enough coder to build a website based around the phpBB framework without following basic tutorials, you'll never get the same result as FP, so you'd best to use the portal mod or the custom page tutorial and build it off that.
