Do you use special holiday logos on your site? Kind of like google doodles, except for a forum. 🙂

This is something I've been doing lately with FeedbackExchange: I have a logo designed for pretty much each imaginable holiday, and we put up one for a few days out of each month. I think it's a really interesting way to engage a community and make your forum feel a little bit more special. 🙂

Here are a few examples of the logos which I use:

Anyway, I think this is actually one of the funner things which a forum can do on a regular schedule to shake things up a little bit. 🙂

Have you ever used holiday logos? Which holidays?

I have holiday logos for each theme as well as a holiday theme for christmas and halloween. The themes are made default for the months of October and December.

Sinon, those banners are all lovely! Great job!

I think being able to adjust our websites to suit current holidays or events is a fun feature we can offer as administrators. It gives the impression that the site is alive which is very positive. Especially when the graphics are done beautifully.

Yep. A couple days of posts on FP were accidentally deleted due to a server crash. Anyway, I did get a chance to see it. It looks great! 😀

I like sites that do this. Some put Christmas hats on the top of their logo and it looks really good 🙂

I love holiday logos, I think they're a cool little thing to spice up the forum and it makes things feel a lot more current. I've never done them on my websites, mainly because I'm not much of a designer, but I've always appreciated others taking the time to make them! 🙂

Oh okay, I thought I'd done something wrong.

I like those logos Sinon. 🙂 I haven't personally used any holiday logos for my websites in the past. I might have to keep it in mind for those holidays coming up. They would make a nice addition.

I'm trying too think up a mother's day idea. I want to create a log in badge also. I can make one for women and one for men. First I thought I should just give woman a mother's day badge but I don't know about that now. Maybe giving something gender specific though.

I use holiday logos for Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Halloween. Typically I don't use them for any other holiday unless the members really want to see them.

I've got a member posting daily threads for weird holidays that no one knows about lol. I think he's teasing me for all my holiday badges I keep giving out for like pi day and stuff.

I like forums that use holiday logos. It brings spice and everything nice to a forum. 😀

Their not as important as other things on the forum but holiday logos can add a nice little touch and festivity to the forum. It's good if its big holidays like Christmas and stuff but there is no need to have to change the logo for every single holiday there is 😛

Holiday logo's are always nice to see on people's forums. You will gain traffic to your forum because members will really like the way you have shown interest in taking the time to design something like this. I've never done them on my forum though. But I will consider it for the future! 🙂

The valentines day one is my fav. <3

I do holiday logos sometimes, I'm not the best graphics artist so I don't really try to do it, haha.

I tend to lean moreso at changing the background rather than the logo.

I have done in the past but nowadays I do not bother as I understand not everyone celebrates these holidays and therefore it isn't really worth the risk of offending someone or whatever, I will sometimes do a holiday themed contest in place of it and of course, I always wish people a happy holidays.

I have plans to change our logo for holidays, we just haven't hit a holiday yet.

Thought about doing the 4th of July this weekend, but decided not to since it's only a US holiday.
