Most forums go through ups & downs with activity levels. How do you handle the lull that comes during the Holidays such as this time of year?
Do you post more threads? Up your exchanges perhaps? Buy posts even?
I try to keep my forum active but I do keep up with exchanges to help my forum & others' out.
Sometimes holidays can slow things down, but there are times when people seek Christian comfort around Christmas and Easter, so we tend to see newbies on Christianity Haven. My members are leery of newbies though because we're kind of a tight family who mostly know one another from another Christian site.
I am running 20 sites and it is really difficult to maintain activities on all of these sites.. I only try to work on the sites that already have traffic and revenue. I work on-site improvement when there are not much activities.
When it comes to holidays such as Easter, Thanksgiving, and also Christmas I always expect it to be quieter as many people will be away from their computers and spending time with their families which are to be expected, a lot of the time during the holidays I celebrate I am doing the same thing. I don't let it get to me as it's normal for activity to drop around then on a forum and if I am able to I will jump on and make some fresh content so that when people come back after the holidays, they have new content to interact with. It always picks back up again after so I don't worry too much.
