We have returned. After an eternity away from you all, Off Topicz is back!

Offtopicz was a exciting and active chat forum and fun arcade games started in 2005. A great place to meet new people and make new friends. At it's peak, doing roughly 50-60 thousand messages a month, Off Topicz community offered unbiased, critical discussion among people of all different backgrounds. The site held real world meet ups, and a number of events.

Several of our oldest members from 2005 have started coming back on our first day being back open. A good Nostolgia moment, and blast from the past for a lot of people. It's an exciting time for the forum, and it's community.

As someone who runs a similar niche/genre forum I wish you luck and the best. It is not as easy of a genre/niche whatsoever and hard to retain and keep active users in 2023. But anyway, hoping it goes well for you!

I know. Time flies. I couldn't believe it either.

I'm glad a large number of older users are coming back. Even ones that didn't come back the first time around. The problem will be now to keep them interested and not just in for the nostalgia.

We have successfully implemented a new badges system! Can you earn every single one? Well you can try!

Badge Tiers:
Common - A badge almost everyone can get.
Uncommon - A badge that is easily obtainable, but not everyone will have it.
Rare - Even fewer people will have this badge.
Epic - Very few people will get this badge.
Legendary - Select few people will have this badge in total.

In the age of social media, we've noticed how popular member stories have become across an array of different apps. (Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, etc) Social media being one of the many reasons why forums these days are on a decline. As the saying goes, if you can't beat them, join them. So inspired by those popular apps, I wanted to bring some of that same spirit to our community here on OTz.

Starting today, I have introduced a new section called "Member Stories". They will be at the top of the forum index where you can share your personal experiences and life stories on Off Topicz using photos and videos that will be visible to the community for 24 hours. Here you can share quick images or clips of what's going on in your life, memories, etc.

P.S. I expect to see some puppies and kittens. Nay, I demand it :O
