Question, how do i create my own host? Do i have to pay? If so, how much?

Yes, you have to pay. If you get a reseller, I have a reseller available for $7.95 a month. Then I can offer 1 year of free hostbill client software if you purchase a dedicated IP which is $1.50 a month.

You need to know what your doing before you even thinking about opening a host, if you don't even know if you have to pay or not (As above answer is YES) then don't bother or get learning.

It's fairly simple to learn the aspects of being a host. You need to research what WHM is and what it does as well as how to use it. You need to learn every aspect of cpanel as well too. You need to know what dns propagation is and how long it takes. Searching for tutorials is the best way to start learning. Best of luck!

you would need to pay about $11 for domain, $20/ month for hosting (reseller) $20-$60 on a decent website template so the beginning cost is about $20-$70 depending on what type of template you buy followed by a $20 fee per month for hosting. depending on who you use as a host.

Hmm. Okay, thanks guys. I was only asking, wasn't planning to start a host. 🙂 Maybe in the future though.

Thanks again.

Wouldn't you have to like have a server in your house or something for people to host stuff on?
No, you do not need a server in your house. 😛 You buy from a datacenter.

Learning the basics yes but it's not fairly easy to learn the advanced stuff to succeed.

You don't have to but you can do that if you can manage it properly, otherwise buying a dedicated server off another host (which will be housed in a datacenter) works perfectly too :great:

I'm worried that terrorists will get me if I don't host it on my own server. I live in a bunker, 3 miles underground. That's a lot safer than using some schmo's dedicated server. Does the dedicated server company you use protect from biological weapons and nuclear bombs? No, it doesn't.

So do you use a rocket to go to surface and then park it in your garage and then get in your car to go places?

Who said I ever leave? The terrorists are stationed outside my bunker waiting for me to leave, so they can blueprint the way into my bunker. I'll never leave as long as they lie in wait for me.

I don't think that's as worse as being afraid to leave the house after being threatened by the Teletubbies that they'll eat my soul.

If you don't even know if it costs money, you shouldn't be starting a host anytime soon. :/
