OK guys, I know most of you will say GO GOOGLE IT, but I want to know YOUR guys favourite hosts because I think i'm going to have to move off HawkHost. I added a track how much downtime you have had and the first night of installing it there was half an hour of downtime.

So what good hosts do you know of which are fast and you know have had minimal downtime?

I was with ServeLayer for a while and had no problems, although I only ran the site for about 3 months with little traffic, so there wasn't much strain on the hosting..

I shall suggest the web host in my signature. Great up-time, speed & support. Moderate prices but there's a thread here with pretty awesome discounts and such. It's a cloud based, small company. 🙂

But, if you are looking for larger companies and well known, my absolute favorite is BlueHost, though might be just a tad pricey. 🙂

Zinc, there are a ton. I check around. The cheapest isn't always the best. I found with hosting you get what you pay for.

I would suggest my host, we offer a 99.9% Up time guarantee. Fast service, I can start you up with your first month free pm if interested or for more info.

Servelayer, was good hosting i used them for while until they disappeared and reappeared.

We're (Dashing/Mario Kart 7 Forum, along with whatever side projects I'm doing) currently on MDD Hosting's Semi-Dedicated hosting. I've had no issues with them.

I would definitely recommend http://dreamhost.com/ for any sort of hosting need. They have fantastic support and great up-time for very reasonable prices.
They have their own home-brew control panel which is much more capable and easier to navigate than cPanel, and if you want personal changes made to it you can even make a request for it.
I didn't start out with them as I had shared hosting with Bluehost originally, though as I was unimpressed with their up-time I eventually moved over to DreamHost and haven't looked back. I'm now running a VPS with them and am very happy with it. I can monitor and scale its resources in real time when I need it and I'm billed accordingly.
Like most other hosts out there DreamHost of course also offers unlimited bandwidth, storage and domain hosting even with their most basic service.

I have Tierra hosting, and they have been awesome! I have done speed tests on my site, which was server testing, and my site came out the fastest against godaddy, and a privately owned tie on a server and my site came out the fastest. My site has also experienced Absolutley no downtime in the past 3 months, and even before that downtime was very very minimal at the most. The customer service is the bet I've seen! They are amazing there. The prices are not bad either! $5 starting price!

I would highly reccommend Tierra hosting! I would never think of any other host!

You could either go with HostGator (there isn't anything wrong with them!) or I or someone else on this forum could provide you with cheap hosting. I am setting up YippeeHost.com which would have a $12 a year plan for the basic... Or I could give you a reseller account with 5gb disk and 50gb bandwidth for $6 per month... 😛

Allan also hosts websites, so you could go with him. 🙂

Yeah, it's coming up to two hours downtime and since Friday last week it would've had 8 hrs downtime >.<

It's a shame I wasted money paying for it yearly!

I have heard alot problems with them, when it comes to down time.

And never pay yearly on any hosting unless you try them out first.Pay month to moth for a little while before making jump to yearly.

OK guys, the problem with the downtime is wordpress uses a lot of CPU, I'm using 25% out of 100% so it turns my site off 🙂

Using 25% CPU shouldn't turn your "site off". Hitting 100% for a prolonged period of time, yes. Hitting 25% CPU, no.
