Hey peepz, I'd like to host a forum competition in WebmasterConvo.
The only problem now is that I'm short on funds.
I'd like to offer paid stuff, but in order to do that I need da monies.
Someone on skype told me that I should maybe ask places who make paid scripts for sponsorship, I wonder how I can do that?

Sorry. I'm kind of a noob here.

Depends on how big your site is. If it's not very large, you probably won't get much support from the desirable paid scripts. :s

And what do people usually give back for sponsorship like that?
They would be looking for positive publicity for their product. So when emailing them explain the publicity benefits they will get from sponsoring a contest on your site. Tell them about the profile of your members / visitors and tell them about how much traffic you get.

Your forum members will be webmasters and most of them will be looking for opportunities to promote their site. You could offer them some ad space on your forum as a contest prize. That would be valuable to them and you wouldn't have to pay out money for the prize.

If it helps I can give you a one year featured listing on http://www.seyq.com/ that you can give as a prize. Those links usually sell for $15 so it's not very valuable, but it might help a little.

Thanks for the reply. I'm looking to give out paid prizes for my members only, not ad space, as my forum receives a fairly low amount of traffic (as of this month as it is new).
I'm wondering what seyq.com is? Is it a directory?
Also, thanks for that, I think I'll need it, so thanks for your generosity!
