Familiar Face
Long story short:
Picture the game Dance Dance Revolution in an arcade - only now think what would happen if there was a usb slot so people could load up and play their own custom songs. A big portion of the traffic of my site comes from people looking for some of the more popular custom charts to download (for a game similar to DDR.)
An example of what they might be looking for would be contained in a .zip file:
- .ogg song file <-- this is where the questions come in...
- a file containing the notes for the song (arrows that were placed by the person who made the custom song)
- a banner image which the person also made
The site was hosting hundreds of user-created custom charts/songs which anyone could download. I'm guessing this was breaking some sort of copyright laws because the song files were being put up publicly, so we took down all the download links.

If I uploaded the files to a file hosting site (like rapidshare) could we again (legally) provide links to the "questionable" content? I realize if the hosting site found out that the content would likely be removed.
