Although I'm using Wordpress, this really isn't a problem related to Wordpress. That much I know.

Alright, so here's my problem. I have a domain on Godaddy. The domain (http://telelit.com) is attached to my forum, TeleLit. It's free-hosted, so the domain itself isn't registered on hosting. However, I have a blog I'm trying to get up and running to replace our current blog, which is on the incredibly subpar Google blogspot.

You can see the problem by going to http://lit.telelit.com

In short, it won't load. I have the lit.telelit.com domain pointing to the correct IP, but for whatever reason, it won't work. In my goDaddy panel, I have the subdomain lit.telelit.com pointing to lit.telelit.com, and then an A record pointing to the IP address. But again, as you can see.. It isn't loading/working. It's been doing this for 2 or 3 days. Any ideas? Thanks!

Who are you hosting your blog on? How did you set up the subdomain? Doing a DNS lookup you have 3 different IP address associated with lit.telelit.com. This may be part of the problem.

DNS servers
ns23.domaincontrol.com [216.69.185.12]
ns24.domaincontrol.com [208.109.255.12]

Answer records
lit.telelit.com A 67.231.245.218

Once you answer the 2 questions above we can help you a little better.

The hosting site I am using hasn't officially launched yet. I was asked not to mention its name yet... But the IP I pointed it to was "67.231.245.218"

The nameservers are pointing to my forum.

To set up the domain, I went to the Godaddy panel, then added a new subdomain, and set up lit.telelit.com to forward to lit.telelit.com (which is on the hosting).

Try removing the domain point. That may be causing a redirect loop. Other then that I am not sure what the issue would be. Maybe ask your super secret host for help if that does not work. 😛

What do you mean by the domain point? 😱

And he doesn't seem to know what the problem is, lol.

Pointing the subdomain to the IP itself should be sufficient to get it working. You shouldn't have to 'point' the domain to itself for it to work.

Ahh.

I did that, but it doesn't seem to have worked. 🙁 I cleared my cache and it still appears the same for me. Does it load for you, by any chance?

It is not loading for me. Chrome says that there are too many redirects/redirect loop.

Chrome said:
Error 310 (net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS): There were too many redirects.

It reloaded about 5 times before it gave me that error. I have never seen a site redirect 5 times...ever. The only other thing that I can think of is that the nameservers for Zetaboards is blocking the subdomain from propagating properly.

So in other words, short of removing my domain from ZB (which isn't an option), I have no recourse D:

Not necessarily. That could only be a possible problem. Maybe you could contact GoDaddy support and ask them if they know what the issue is, assuming that you have not done so already.

Sorry that I could not have been of any more help. I'm rather stumped by this one..

That's a good idea. I'll do that. Thank you 🙂
