It's pretty awesome! I definitely recommend it as one of my favorite shows in the "Drama" category. I haven't seen Scandal myself, but the way I'd describe House of Cards is that the plot is very driven (each episode builds upon the next, each season has an exciting climax). There's a good amount of "holy crap" drama, but also some levity as well. It's a very well balanced series, and an enjoyable watch.Hissae2 said:Haven't seen it, but just looked it up and it sounds a little like Scandal. I might give this a try after I finish watching the show I am watching now 🙂

Though from what I have seen it looks like a Scandal number 2, in which case it's got to be good. 😛

Right now I'm about one episode after the point where it shifts focus from Dunbar to Conway, and after Frank and Clair team up again. I'm a bit put off by the Polyhop thing, because it feels like a bunch of BS to me. I don't think a search engine, even Google, could get data that is accurate enough to make that significant of a difference in a political campaign. A social network maybe. Maybe. But probably not.
It also seems implausible that the NSA could provide the data. Mainly because the NSA couldn't exactly give political campaign a pipeline of their data. You just can't connect a campaign's servers to a classified network, and surely someone would notice if the campaign carried terrabytes of data out of Ft. Meed. Even if that could be done, it seems implausible to say that an algorithm with current technology would be able to identify the kind of trends that would be useful to a political campaign.
Overall, my suspension of disbeleif is challenged, and the tension has decreased by a lot now that Clair, Frank, and Doug have teamed up again. Will the tension go back up again, and not based off of the rather shaky "Polyhop" concept?
