To answer your question here I think having a promotional section is fine, and adding a webmaster section could help bring in some more activity.

I think both sections helped when we were on SMF. I think I'll go that route

So far I have updated the theme added a couple of sections and moved topics to said areas. I'm still looking at a webmaster section but that's going to be sometime during the week
